5 Astrological Transits To Look Forward To (and the zodiac signs that will experience them in the next year)
a little dose honeyed light
If you’re feeling as uneasy as the rest of us are right now, here’s a list of generally fun personal transits to give you a little something to look forward to. Sometimes transits like these will be life-changingly joyful, and other times they’ll be pleasant in a simple, mundane sort of way, but they’ll probably bring you some sweetness either way.
A Saturnian note that I can’t keep myself from adding: Keep in mind that while these transits are often enjoyable, no transit will ever be great 100% of the time (and no supposedly-hard transit will be hard 100% of the time either!). We always have to consider the big picture of the cosmos, each individual’s natal chart, and each person’s existing circumstances in life.
If you’re looking for more insight on when and how these transits will materialize for you, or more insight on anything else in astrology, I just opened my books for the rest of April through mid-May. You can book a session with me HERE!
1. Jupiter conjunct your natal sun (aka when transiting Jupiter is within 3º of your natal sun)
If you’re familiar with my work at all, you already know that I’m a huge skeptic when it comes to Jupiter. I cannot tell you how often clients ask me why a Jupiter transit wasn’t all that great, or why things were literally terrible during a supposedly-great Jupiter transit. We overexaggerate Jupiter’s splendor and beneficence (which is incredibly on-brand for Jupiter, the big-ass planet of exaggeration, optimism, and blind faith). Jupiter transits are overhyped and rarely deliver what is promised. The thing about Jupiter is that it will indiscriminately enlarge and emphasize whatever it touches (it’s like the north node in that way).
Jupiter conjunct sun can absolutely be exactly like all the rest of the Jupiter transits – a letdown – but when it’s good, it’s GOOD, and I genuinely look forward to it for friends and clients! This only comes around once every 12 years (technically it can hit your sun three times if your sun happens to fall in the range of Jupiter’s retrograde that year), and it’s a time of optimism, opportunities, being able to see a better way out, and feeling more willing to take chances and grab opportunities.
How to make the most of this transit: Ride the wave of good vibes, get out of your comfort zone a little, and grab opportunities if they present themselves. Like I always say, when a Jupiter transit blows an opportunity your way, you really have to reach out and grab it or it’ll just pass you by.
What signs will experience Jupiter conjunct natal sun in the next year? As I write this, on April 14th, Jupiter sits at 18º Gemini, and it will enter Cancer on June 9th and remain there for one year. Anyone with their sun in Gemini at 15º or later is going through this transit right now or will be in the next ~2 months. Anyone with their sun in Cancer will be experiencing this at some point between June 2025 and June 2026.
2. Your Mars return (aka when transiting Mars is in the same sign it was in when you were born)
This is a time when we have more energy, we’re feeling more motivated, more awake and alive, like there’s just a vigor in your body that may not always be there, especially for some of us (...like me). Confidence is also often higher during this time. It’s exciting! We all go through our Mars return every two-ish years, and it lasts for about a month and a half each time on average.
How to make the most of this time: Take advantage of the extra boost of energy and finally do all those things you’ve been wanting to get done for ages, go out more, and make sure you’re taking time to rest (it can be easy to overstress yourself during this transit). Don’t let the confidence boost tip you over into arrogance or taking too many risks, and be aware that you may be feeling more confrontational too (this can be great if you need the extra push to address interpersonal issues, but it can be problematic in other cases).
What signs will experience their Mars return in the next year? If you have your Mars in Cancer, you’ve been in the midst of your Mars return right now, and it’ll conclude in mid-April (this has probably been a lame one for you, though, because Mars was also retrograde in Cancer earlier this year). In the next year, natal Leo Mars, Virgo Mars, Libra Mars, Scorpio Mars, Sagittarius Mars, Capricorn Mars, Aquarius Mars, Pisces Mars, and Aries Mars will all go through their Mars return!
3. North node transiting your 1st house (aka when the north node is in the same sign as your ascendant)
This is a rare one – it only happens once every 18 years, for 18 months at a time. This is usually a time of immense growth. It’s not necessarily an easy time per se (not all the time anyway), but it’s a time when a lot of things are moving. Things are actually happening, things are coming to fruition, and we’re feeling a sense of forward momentum in our lives. If you’ve been feeling stuck, this transit will most likely unstick you.
This can be a chaotic time period packed with lots of change. Events that transpire during this time can feel strangely fated, like it couldn’t have happened in any other way, it always had to be just like this. This feeling of fatedness can also apply to undesirable events as well – no transit is all good or all bad and this transit can also coincide with notable rises and falls in a person’s life. Nonetheless, the momentum that comes along with the north node transiting your 1st house is exciting.
How to make the most of this time: We don’t have to do a whole hell of a lot to “make use of” the north node, and in fact its results are usually more unpredictable and beyond the realm of our control. This doesn’t mean we should be passive, and you probably won’t feel like being passive during this time anyway. The best thing to do is think about the future and exactly where you want to be, and actively move toward it.
What signs will experience this transit in the next year? Pisces risings and Pisces risings only.
4. Anything conjunct your north node (aka when a transiting planet is within 3º of your natal north node)
Again, the north node indicates growth and forward momentum. We’re getting up and moving. Things just happen under these transits. Look back at days when significant things happened or began in your life and see how many of them happened while something was within a few degrees of your north node. I’ve seen this show up with literally any planet transiting a person’s north node – everything from the moon (which will conjoin everyone’s north node each month) to Pluto. This is one transit that isn’t always positive and depends a lot on what’s going on in your chart, but it still made the cut.
How to make the best of this transit: You don’t have to do much, but if you’re into scheduling certain things along with the astrology I’d recommend considering this transit for anything you want to grow and get bigger. Things can expand exponentially when something’s on your north node.
What signs will experience this transit in the next year? Everyone will experience this in the next year! And in fact, we’ll all have the moon conjoin our natal north nodes once every single month, always.
5. Venus transiting your 7th house (aka when Venus is in the sign opposite your rising sign)
I was a little hesitant to put this one on the list because everyone experiences this transit every year for about a month each time, and it’s my belief that if a transit happens every year, it can’t really be that notable, right?
But on the other hand, don’t we experience the vibes of this transit every year? Don’t we experience delightful connections with other people, enjoyable experiences involving other people, and all that good Venus stuff at some point every year? The flavor and intensity of the delight is going to vary depending on your individual chart, as is the case for any transit, but this is a sweet one to look forward to every year.
How to make the best of this transit: Don’t isolate yourself! Spend time with people you love, go on dates, go out with friends, compliment people, give gifts, and generally spread the warm, delicious Venusian vibes around to other people.
What signs will experience this transit in the next year? Again, this happens for everyone every year. As I write this on April 14th, Virgo risings are going through this transit. This may have been a not-so-glorious round so far though (same for Libra risings back in March) because Venus was retrograde during this time. It’s probably improving as we speak, however, as Venus is now direct.
I loveeeee a good Venus in 7th transit moment 😌☀️🌞🦁♌️ hits me hard in summer
