This is a week of crossroads, turning points, and wider views.
Today, November 15th, is the full moon in Taurus at 24º
What is Real is what is physically here. Senses are real because bodies are real and bodies are real because molecules are real and molecules are real because they vibrate against one another, making each other zip and buzz and weep and fall.
I don’t subscribe to the idea that “I think, therefore I am.” A Taurus moon came up with that idea while Pluto was transiting his moon – it is a product of intense discomfort in an alchemical process of death and rebirth, not an immutable fact of reality. It’s essentially one man’s mental health crisis and the world has taken it as fact for the next five hundred-plus years.
I bubble and simmer and leak and clamor and laugh and connect and think, therefore I am. I am so many things and all of them come from the spark of what is real. These are the things that Uranus in Taurus knows. I feel and touch and connect and change, therefore I am. Life affects me like the sun and rain affect the earth, therefore I am. I am part of humanity, therefore I am. I am part of the earth, therefore I am. I am full of electricity and water and salt and metal, therefore I am. I am here with you, therefore I am.
This full moon is at 24º Taurus, closely conjunct Uranus. It’s ruled by Venus in Capricorn, who sits at the bending of the nodes on a psychedelic throne. There’s much room for morphing and melting down and leaking out of boxes, maybe even in ways that feel fated, like it could never have happened in any other way. Transits like this full moon are always touted as utterly life-changing, and for some people it will be (and also each and every day is life-changing for someone somewhere) but in reality, for most people, it’s as simple as reading a quote that makes you see things differently, or the coffee shop is out of your usual so you try something else and end up loving it, or you go to the grocery store and forget to buy the one thing you went there for.
Uranus will always liberate us from the conveyor belt. Uranus on the moon brings focus back to what we have always needed and wanted and tried to deny or outright forgot about. It’s the flexibility of needs. Heart in flux. Body ebbing and flowing, flowering and exfoliating. The weird shit we want in order to feel safe is only weird in a world that wants us standing in line on a concrete floor under fluorescent lights. In the real world you are cradled like a baby and I’m drawing you a bath. In the real world you are bringing home a big salad for me. In the real world I needed to be nurtured in order to grow. In the real world we are together, far from the conveyor belt, therefore we are.
If you’d like to know how this full moon may be showing up for you, I wrote horoscopes for each sign in November’s forecast, and below are the rest of your transits for the next week.
